From pep talks to protection: iconic moms get real about RSV and Beyfortus
“With Lou, we were very proactive. We talked to her pediatrician about RSV, and he was really adamant that no matter if your baby is born before or during virus season, it’s important to help protect them with Beyfortus. So, we got Lou immunized the first week of October.”
GABY: Hi, guys! Come in!
MANDY: Hi, friend! Thank you for hosting! [Hugs] Wow!
GABY: Thanks for coming!
KATYA: This place looks amazing!
GABY: Hi, how are you!
KATYA: Good!
ELAINE: Hi!
GABY: Hi!
ELAINE: Okay, this place is a vibe!
GABY: I mean I just threw everything in the laundry room, but thank you!
KATYA: It's amazing.
SHAWN: Hi!
GABY: You know that planning one of these is like solving a puzzle blindfolded. I'm so happy you guys are all here!
ALL: Wow, thank you!
ELAINE: This is gorgeous.
GABY: You're welcome.
SHAWN: And we have got so much to catch up on. Also, it smells amazing!
MANDY: Yeah, it does. And shout-out to Elaine for that teething toy link for Lou — she is loving it. And speaking of our little ones... Katya, how are you feeling going into winter virus season?
KATYA: Honestly? A little more at ease. I know some of you have been through it — RSV especially — and your stories helped so much.
SHAWN: It is no joke. As I told you all, when Jett got RSV and he ended up in the emergency room, I'll never forget the sound of him struggling to breathe. And then when Bear was born in the middle of RSV season, Andrew and I didn't hesitate, we asked our pediatrician about Beyfortus, and we talked to him about it right away.
MANDY: Both Gus and Ozzie got RSV when they were babies and we were lucky that it didn't require a hospital trip, but it still, like, really shook us.
MANDY: So, with Lou we were very proactive. We talked to her pediatrician about RSV, and he was really adamant that no matter if your baby is born before or during winter virus season, it's important to help protect them with Beyfortus. So, we got Lou immunized the first week of October.
ELAINE: Amazing.
SHAWN: And now, a little break for safety information.
MANDY: I got this one!
Beyfortus helps prevent a serious lung disease caused by RSV for babies under 1 born before or during their first RSV season, and certain kids up to 24 months.
Your child should not take Beyfortus if your child has a history of serious allergic reactions to nirsevimab- a-l-i-p or any of the ingredients in Beyfortus.
It's important to talk about it, and the common side effects, with your baby's doctor.
And now back to our regularly scheduled Moms Night!
GABY: Well done, Mandy! And I did talk to my — I mean our — pediatrician about it. I got Finn in the day after you guys were there. And I know as moms there's nothing worse than seeing our babies in pain and shot days can be the worst, but I know getting Beyfortus would ultimately be less painful than a potential trip to the hospital with RSV.
ELAINE: You guys, our baby got Beyfortus during just a regular checkup and didn't have any side effects, didn't even cry—okay? I cried, he was fine! I just wish more parents knew to ask about it and to take their questions to the doctor.
KATYA: Okay...real talk? I don't always feel like I know what I'm doing as a first-time mom. But making the decision to get Beyfortus for baby M, it just felt like a win. You all sharing the experiences seriously made the biggest difference.
SHAWN: That "Am I doing this right?" feeling never goes away. Welcome to the club.
MANDY: Which is why moms have to be there to lean on each other — especially when we're drowning in onesies and unanswered texts. No one gets it like another mom.
GABY: Let's raise a toast!
ALL: To BEYFORTUS. Before RSV!
ALL: Cheers!
SHAWN: Join us and millions of moms who know Beyfortus is the real deal, and have your baby Beyrified, too.
MANDY: Talk to your doctor.
ELAINE: Ask about it early.
KATYA: And check out more at Beyfortus.com.
